Common AEG Error Codes and their Descriptions
• E11: Difficulty Filling Water During Washing Phase
The error code may occur due to various reasons, such as inadequate water fill before the washing cycle or a defective valve. It is important to conduct tests to identify the root cause and ensure proper diagnosis.
• E12: Difficulty Filling Water During Drying Phase
If the drying phase takes a maximum of 3 minutes to start, it could be due to low water pressure, water pressure switches that are malfunctioning and require replacement, or issues with the door closure or paused cycle.
• E13: Water Leakage Detected
To address water leakage, check the positioning of the leaking drain hose. If the hose is correctly positioned, there may be issues with the water pressure switch or leaks/blockages in the water circuit of the pressure switch. Also, verify that the cycle is not paused and the door is properly locked, as water buildup can lead to pressure and subsequent leaks.
• E21: Difficulty Draining
A faulty drain system is often caused by a clogged or dirty drain filter. Ensure that the drain filter is free from obstructions. If the drain is still not effectively removing water, it could be due to a faulty wire or malfunctioning main board, which may require replacement.
• E23/E24: Malfunction Of The Component That Controls The Drain Pump
A malfunction in the sensing circuit can lead to a faulty main board, which should be promptly replaced.
• E35: Water Level Too High
When the water level rises excessively, it may indicate an overflowing error, a faulty fill valve, or defects in wiring or the main board. Monitor the cycle’s frequency of starting and stopping due to this error and check if the drain pump operates during the cycle.
• E38: Pressure Chamber Blocked
If the water circuit on the pressure switches is broken or the motor belt is faulty, they may need replacement.
• E3A: Problems With Sensing Circuit Of The Heating Element Relay
This error is typically caused by a defective main board. If the main board is faulty, it must be replaced.
• E41: Door Open
Ensure that nothing obstructs the proper closure of the appliance door.
• E42: Problems With Door Aperture
Check for any obstructions preventing the door from opening and closing correctly. If no obstructions are present, there may be an issue with the door lock or wiring that requires replacement.
• E45: Problems With The Sensing Circuit Of The Triac That Actions The Door Lock
Check the sensor near the triac on the door display for any faults. If the sensor is functioning correctly, the problem may lie with the main board or be the result of an emergency drain procedure.
• E51: Motor Power Triac Short-Circuited
A short circuit in the power supply of the triac may be caused by insufficient power reaching the machine. It could also be due to a faulty PCB, motor leakage, or wiring loom issues. Try power cycling the device to see if the issue persists.
• E61 Insufficient Heating During Washing
Insufficient heating during the washing cycle may indicate a faulty heating element. Check for faulty wiring in the main panel or a defective NTC sensor.
• E62: Overheating During Wash Cycle
Overheating during a wash cycle may be caused by the door being open. Ensure that nothing obstructs the door from closing properly. If the error code persists, it could be due to a faulty heating element or PCB.
• E71 Faulty NTC Sensor
The NTC sensor of the appliance is faulty. Reset the appliance to the start and ensure that the heating cycle is not skipped. If the issue persists, there may be a problem with the main board that requires replacement.
• E82 Error In Reading The RESET/OFF Position Of The Programme Selector
This error indicates an issue with the reset position of the selector. It could be caused by a faulty PCB sending incorrect configuration data or defective selector wiring.
• E91: Communication Error Between User Interface And Mainboard
This error arises from communication problems between the main PCB and the user display board. It could be caused by faulty wiring or a defective main PCB. To avoid such issues, ensure that the cycle is not interrupted during operation.
• E94: Washing Cycle Configuration Error
This error may occur due to incorrect appliance configuration or incorrect configuration data sent to the appliance. Attempt to power off and reset the appliance, and if the issue persists, it could be due to a faulty PCB.
